Audi A3 1.6 TDI ultra: Versatile Sparkler

Audi presents the most fuel-efficient series model of the brand:

According to NEDC measurements, the 110 hp Audi A3 1.6 TDI ultra consumes 3,2 liters of diesel per 100 kilometers. This corresponds to a CO2 value of just 85 grams per kilometer.

The sale of the new A3 1.6 TDI starts immediately; the first deliveries to customers will take place in September. Prices in Germany start at 25.200 euros.

The 110 PS strong diesel engine lets the A3 sprint to 200 km / h and the sprint from 0 to 100 km / h is done within 10.5 seconds.
Thanks to its 50 liter tank, ranges of significantly more than 1.200 kilometers are possible.
The standard equipment of the five-seater A3 1.6 TDI includes air conditioning, Audi radio and power windows. Audi produces the A3 1.6 TDI ultra as a three-door as well as a five-door Sportback.

The empty weight of the A3 1.6 TDI ultra is 1.205 kilograms. A body lowered by 15 millimeters and S line side skirts ensure improved aerodynamics. Rolling resistance optimized tires in the format 205 / 55 R16 as well as an extended axle ratio further increase the efficiency of the A3 1.6 TDI ultra.

As currently the most efficient Audi, the new A3 version is also the first model of the brand with the addition of "ultra" to its name. At Audi, the term “ultra” will in future be an example of the brand's claim to implement consistent sustainability in products and in production.

In further series, Audi will present ultra models with TDI and TFSI engines in the coming months.

The Audi A3 1.6 TDI competes with the HONDA Civic 1.6i-DTEC that was launched a few months ago and starts with 125 PS, is 7 km / h faster, does the sprint to 100 in 0.5 seconds faster and despite the additional performance of 15 PS only 0.4 liters consumed per 100 kilometers more. a Driving report on the Civic 1.6i-DTEC and one consumption test there is here in the blog.
