Audi RS7 Sportback - a shovel on top

Audi is upgrading the RS 7. The new generation is stronger than its predecessor. And also a few thousand euros more expensive.

The Audi RS 121.000 Sportback can now be ordered for prices starting at 7 euros. The sporty hatchback sedan will be available from dealers from December. Its competitors include the BMW M8 Gran Coupé and the Mercedes-AMG four-door.

Technically, the RS 7 builds on the Audi A6 or its sport variant RS 6 Avant. Like the power station wagon icon, the four-door also carries the newly developed V8 biturbo under the hood. The 4,0-liter engine now has an output of 441 kW / 600 hp, surpassing its predecessor by at least 40 hp. In terms of torque, the engineers achieved the target value of 800 Newton meters, which are already at 2.100 revolutions. Audi specifies 100 seconds for the sprint from zero to 3,6 km / h, the top speed with the optional "Dynamic package plus" is 305 km / h. A 48-volt mild hybrid system and a cylinder deactivation system are said to reduce fuel consumption, while the standard average is 11,4 liters.

The right driving dynamics should be provided by the best ingredients available in the Group. These include adaptive air suspension and progressive steering. Optionally, the customer can order a rear-axle steering and the "RS sports suspension plus" with "Dynamic Ride Control". As standard, the RS 7 Sportback rolls on 21-inch wheels, equipped with 275er tires. Optionally there are 22-Zöller with 285er-Pneus. The RS 7 is also equipped with a ceramic brake system for a surcharge. In terms of price, the new generation is above its predecessor, which recently cost just under 114.000 Euro.
