Car color trends - achromatic ... or blue

White remains the most popular Car colour in Europe. Every third new car is painted in this tone, as evidenced by the "European Color Report" of the paint manufacturer BASF Coatings. In second place follows 19 percent black, gray comes to 18 percent. Overall, 80 percent of all cars are painted in an "achromatic" color. Among the bright colors, blue is at the top of the popularity scale at ten percent. In red, six percent of all new cars are painted, Braun comes to four percent.

The strongest is the unbunted dominance in the upper class, where black is the most common tone with a share of 34 percent. However, with a share of three percent, green is surprisingly strong. Especially darker shades give big cars a special, elegant look, according to BASF. Especially colorful is in the small car segment, among other things, in this class, the red share with new percent highest. Even white, often the only free-price color, comes with 33 percent on the highest share in all classes. (Holger Holzer / SP-X)
