What is Bentley known for? Most people will think of luxury, pomp and style first, sportiness rather less. The English luxury brand is considered dynamic, especially when compared to Rolls Royce - just think of the Bentley cars at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The two British, the revised Bentley Continental Speed GT and the Bentley Continental Speed GT Black Edition now want to underline this and act particularly sporty Gran Tursismo.
When optimizing the Bentley Continental Speed GT, the main focus was on increasing exclusivity and performance. The coupé is the fastest Bentley ever and reaches a top speed of up to 331 km / h. This is due to an increase in power and torque. The 6.0 liter W12 twin turbo now delivers 642 hp and puts seven horsepower on the performance of its predecessor. In addition, the torque increased by 20 to a total of 840 Nm, which are between 2.000 and 5.000 tours. The higher power output results from an adjustment of the boost pressure, which ultimately leads to the Bentley Continental Speed GT breaking the 3,9 km / h mark in 100 seconds. Not bad if you consider again the very moderate increase in performance by seven horsepower.
The GT Speed Black Edition model is also new. It should embody even more the typical sporty character of a GT and is available both as a convertible and a coupé. As the name suggests, the Brit comes in a high-gloss black finish when it comes to the grill, the window frames and the headlights. There are also black 21-inch rims in five-spoke design, behind which brake calipers in either red or black are waiting. So that the look does not appear too monotonous and suggests a little more sportiness, the front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser are always in a contrasting color. This is available in four versions: You can choose between Hallmark, Beluga, St. James Red or Cyber Yellow and optionally have the mirror caps painted in the same color.
Inside, dark tones are combined with lively highlights. This is how you come across carbon elements that are scattered throughout the interior and are intended to convey racing flair. The leather, which is available in the contrasting colors of the exterior paintwork, creates an opulent ambience - as befits a Bentley. The matching contrast stitching sets a further visual accent.
The Bentley Continental Speed GT Black Edition was designed to offer customers two things: on the one hand improved sporty driving characteristics and on the other hand an even higher recognition value. The exclusivity is of course at the usual high level. Every Continental GT is handmade in Crewe in the UK in 110 hours. 30 employees take care of the installation and assembly of the W12 engine alone. Accordingly, it takes time to get your Bentley Continental GT Speed Black Edition. The model is now available for order, with the first deliveries starting in summer.
