Bentley Flying Spur 2020 - Ultimate GT Luxury Sedan

Production of the Bentley Flying Spur has begun. The ultimate GT luxury sedan is manufactured in Crewe, UK. Each Bentley is assembled by hand by around 200 employees. It takes 84 different assembly steps to roll a Flying Spur off the assembly line. Remarkable figures for the third generation of the elite grand tourer.

Grand Tourer luxury sedan “Flying B”

[dropcap size=big]13[/dropcap]The luxury grand touring sedan benefits from a 13 cm longer wheelbase. A retractable Bentley mascot “Flying B” is being used for the first time on a Flying Spur. The interior is unmistakably Bentley, with contemporary design lines flowing through the passenger areas.

The ribbed leather seats in a completely new design ensure optimum comfort and style diamond quilting for the Mulliner Driving Specification. The three-dimensional leather doors, also with diamond stitching, are a world first.

Mood lighting with ultimate listening pleasure

At the front, the Bentley rotating display is the central feature of the dashboard. The centerpiece in the rear is a detachable touchscreen remote control. All important functions can be operated with this.

A panoramic glass sunroof extends the full length of the roof. In addition, an innovative mood lighting system with several configuration options is available. Three audio systems are available for ultimate listening pleasure.

The driver of the new Bentley Flying Spur, or a chauffeur, can rely on a wide range of driving assistance systems. Among them is a traffic assist, an infrared camera for the night and a head-up display.

All-wheel steering for the luxury sedan

The electronic four-wheel steering is used for the first time in a Bentley. With Active All-Wheel Drive and Bentley Dynamic Ride, the world's first 48-V electric roll stabilizer, it ensures smooth driving behavior. New three-chamber air springs offer a wider range of suspension settings between the ride comfort of a sedan and a sporty driving style.

[dropcap size=big]333[/dropcap]The British luxury sedan is powered by a twin-turbocharged 6,0-liter W12 engine with 635 hp. Power is transmitted via an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. It reaches the 3,8 km/h mark in 100 seconds. Bentley states its top speed as 333 km/h.

Extensive test program for the Flying Spur

The Flying Spur was also tested on more than 150 laps on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. He had to drive at top speed for more than 12.000 kilometers in test drives. He was on the road in over 18 countries. From 61 meters below sea level to 4.300 meters above sea level. In total, he covered more than 1,6 million test kilometers in the tests.

The new Flying Spur can be ordered now. Deliveries of the sedan to customers will begin in early 2020.
