BMW 3 Series GT - Off for the hatchback sedan

After just one generation, there's no end to it: there will be no successor to the BMW 3er GT.

The BMW 3er Gran Turismo receives no successor. The Munich-based manufacturer has now declared this during the annual press conference. The stretched hatchback variant of the mid-range range is one of the first victims of a new strategy to reduce complexity in production. In addition, BMW wants from 2021 up to 50 percent of today's drive variants omitted and limited to the most sought-after variants.

The 3er GT came 2013 on the market and should combine the advantages of sedan and station wagon. Model was the one-size larger 5er GT, with which he shared details such as the large electric tailgate and frameless side windows in addition to the flowing roofline. Technically, the GT largely corresponds to the other 3er variants of the 2019 built E90 generation. On a G20-based version you do not have to wait for the current announcement.
