CO2 fleet emissions

Europeans' new cars emitted too much CO2020 on average in 2. The goal was just missed, however.

Europe's new car fleet just missed the CO2 limit. According to preliminary calculations by the environmental organization ICCT, the average carbon dioxide emissions of a newly registered car in the EU in 2020 was 97 instead of the specified 96 grams per kilometer. According to the data, individual manufacturers missed their individual target values even more, including VW and Daimler. Others like PSA / Opel and BMW have reduced emissions more than required. The EU intends to present the final data in the middle of the year - they will also determine the amount of any fines.
