Danish company HBH is planning Aston Martin mid-engine sports cars

The Danish company HBH is planning a mid-engine sports car based on the Aston Martin V12 Vantage. The namesakes of the company, Torben Hartvig, Christian Brandt and Jesper Hermann, have so far specialized in smaller sports car concepts. They penned vehicles such as the Zenvo ST1 or a Kleemann GTK. Now HBH wants to design an individual customer vehicle with Aston Martin.

Many sports car companies are increasingly starting to build unique, custom-made vehicles that only exist once. With this vehicle, the HBH design team wants to revive the design of the LMP1 Le Mans racing car. But this time with a mid-engine sports car concept. All previous Aston Martin vehicles, including the Aston Martin One-77 supercar, have the engine installed in the front.

HBH is currently still looking for potential customers for the Aston Martin mid-engine sports car. The plan is to find a customer in the next three to four months who, as an ambitious collector, is looking for just such a vehicle and would like to enter into a cooperation with HBH.

In the end, only one vehicle should be built. The customer will own 50 percent of the design and production rights. If everything goes smoothly and the future customer agrees, one could even envisage small series production, according to the spokesman for HBH.

By 2012, however, the Danes definitely want to present the first mid-engine sports car based on an Aston Martin to the public.
