The black abbot

If enough is not enough, Abbot now has a lookup for you to look up. Because after the Allgäu have already tuned the Audi RS6 from 600 to 740 PS, they are now launching a Signature Edition with 800 PS. But it's not just about the more powerful engine, the car becomes a total work of art.

No, you can't complain about a lack of performance with the Audi RS6. And where other RS models from Ingolstadt might otherwise appear a bit discreet, the 600 hp power station wagon is hardly lacking in presence. But because enough is never enough, the Kempten tuner Abt has apparently launched a real successful model with the RS6-R. It is not for nothing that the Allgäuers have 740 hp in the data sheet. Too bad that they limited production to 125 copies and that almost all of them have now been sold. That is why there is now a look-up for a look-up and it's even sharper. To celebrate the 125th birthday and in honor of its founder, Johan Baptiste Abt, the RS6 is available as a “Signature Edition” with even more power and an even bolder look.

With larger intercoolers and a second oil cooler as well as new software, the output of the 4-liter V8 engine increases by a further 60 hp and only now peaks at 800 hp. The maximum torque is now only reached at 980 instead of 800 Nm. In the auto quartet, the black abbot relieves the series model of the eternity of 0,7 seconds during the sprint and has reached 100 km / h after 2,9 seconds. And where Audi turns off the tap on the RS6 at 305 km / h at the latest, the hammer for the Abbot only falls at 330 km / h.

But cars differ even more in practice than on paper. Because with the more powerful engine, a revised coilover suspension and around 150 kilos more downforce than the production model, this RS6 becomes a real steam hammer, which attracts with almost infinite torque at almost any speed and thus makes the country road a pleasure. Because where you usually get annoyed about Sunday drivers, the ones in this car are a welcome invitation to tap your little toe for a moment. Then an inferno breaks out in the stern, the four 285s on the 22-inch wheels mesh with the asphalt and before the indicator is properly engaged, you can see the man in front in the rearview mirror.

The PS can be seen visually

The RS6 remains an Avant even in the Abt trim. But the excuse of the revamped family carriage only works to a limited extent with the series model, with the RS-R it even reaches its limits and with the Signature Edition it becomes completely a farce. Because with this model, the Allgäu no longer even try to camouflage the sports car in the guise of an everyday car. Yes, there is a certain residual comfort, and at least bulky spoilers are in vain. But at the latest with the red decorative threads in the black carbon regalia of the body and more leather inside than in a dominatrix's studio, the RS6 even becomes a total work of art for hasty self-promoters. And they have to pay a lot for the show. Because Abt estimates a proud 109.000 euros for the conversion, so that in the end a good 260.000 euros are on the bill for a complete vehicle.

Instead of a nice story and the reproduced autograph of the founder, there is also a real piece of company history: Instead of taking more and more weight out of the car, Abt made an exception this time in memory of the company's roots - and even packed an anvil in the car. Or at least part of it: To commemorate the beginnings as a forge, the Kempten company cut off a piece of the company's founder's anvil and immortalized it in a kind of “time capsule” on the center console.
