This trip will probably be one of the best road trips “ever” - the route alone sounds like an absolutely great time!
At the beginning of January I will land in the City of Angels together with 9 other bloggers - from there we will embark on a journey across the USA.
2.500 miles across the United States
A good 4.000 kilometers through the USA - from the west coast to far in the east of the USA - directly into the heart of the American automotive industry - to Detroit! We have almost 6 days for this, even if I'm already at the Citroën Road Trip Having unwound more than 3.000 km in one weekend, due to the speed limit in the USA and the many imponderables on such a long road trip, I'm a little nervous - but rather full of great anticipation 😉
The destination of our trip, the Autostadt Detroit, will be reached in time for the start of the NAIAS 2013 if all goes well. NAIAS stands for North American Automobile Show making it the most important automobile fair in 2013 on the American continent.
What are we going to drive? Where will we stay overnight? Which stations are ahead of us? And who is there? And why am I actually doing this 🙂?
There is still a little time left until the start of the RoadTrip and I think I'll be telling you a little bit more about this RoadTrip over the coming weeks.
There is one more thing I can write about right away: I sent this idea to Mercedes-Benz in September - but Jan from auto-geil.de actually got the idea and if I understood correctly the history of the road trip at Mercedes-Benz, then it did Jan probably “tortured” for so long that Mercedes-Benz couldn't do anything else 🙂 - Good job, Jan!
Of course, I would have liked to plan the road trip and implement my own ideas - but now I trust the organization crew of “The best or nothing” and instead of the person in charge, I will enjoy the ride on the road trip as a simple participant - that will probably make for one little more coolness on the trip.
