Electrical lightweightDelivery vehicles for the last mile are all the rage right now. A simple and at the same time cheaper representative of this genre is now announced from Tunisia.
The German-Tunisian start-up Bako Motors wants to bring an environmentally friendly and affordable last mile delivery vehicle for logistics companies and small businesses to the market with the electric tricycle Treebako. The lightweight vehicle, which is just over 2,70 meters long, is characterized by an electric drive that can use free traction current thanks to solar cells on the roof. In the coming year, the company plans to bring the first vehicles onto the market in Germany as well.
The electric tricycle also has an electric motor
There are no details about the drive yet. As a lightweight vehicle of the L3 class, this is likely to be characterized by a presumably modest level of performance. In addition to solar cells on the roof, the electric drive receives traction power from a 48-volt lithium-ion battery. A range of up to 120 kilometers should be possible, the operating costs are estimated at 50 cents per 100 kilometers. The passenger compartment offers two seats. For the rear superstructure, Bako Motors promises around 1,5 cubic meters of storage space and a floor space that offers space for a Euro pallet.
Initially, Bako Motors wants to set up a production facility in Tunisia, from where the first vehicles will also be exported to Germany from the end of 2022. The price should be around 4.400 euros. Bako Motors also wants to open up other markets with its own local production facilities.
