E-car buyers are now receiving more money from the state. The increase applies retrospectively until the beginning of June.
The increased electric car premium now comes into force. According to the Federal Ministry of Economics, the regulation applies retrospectively to car purchases from June 3 to the end of 2021. The subsidy, which has been renamed from the “environmental bonus” to the “innovation bonus”, is intended to boost the sale of electric cars and the car market as a whole.
The most important point is to double the federal share of the existing environmental bonus. For a pure e-car, including the manufacturer's share, there is funding of up to 9.000 euros, 6.750 euros for plug-in hybrids. Since part of the amount is deducted from the net price, buyers also save part of the VAT.
Except for new cars, there is money to the state when buying relatively new used cars. The first registration must be after November 4, 2019, the second registration between June 3, 2020 and December 31, 2021.
