More and more people in Germany are planning to switch to this Electric car. Like the consulting company's latest edition of the “Electromobility trend barometer” Bearing Point shows, 22 percent of Germans now assume that their next car will have an electric drive. At the beginning of the year, the share of future e-car buyers was around 18 percent. At 27 percent, the proportion of the under 25-year-olds group is currently even higher. Among those willing to switch, 41 percent said they would opt for a battery-electric model, 42 percent would prefer hybrid models.

Less taxes through electromobility?

46 percent cited the ecological aspect as the main reason for switching to electric cars. This is followed by financial advantages. 12 percent are hoping for tax savings, and 12 percent are also expecting lower maintenance costs. The main reasons given against buying an e-car are still high acquisition costs (29 percent), low range (22 percent) and inadequate charging options (19 percent). These were the most important counter-arguments in previous surveys, however, according to the survey, reservations about range and charging options have decreased significantly.
