Driving Report: Nissan Micra 2019

Nissan honors his smallest model representative Micra. There is more power and less consumption plus automatic on request.

Diesel in the small car? It will be tight in the future - no longer to be found in the Micra price list. Instead, those Nissan Micra with the turbocharged 0,9-liter three-cylinder gasoline now start with 74 kW / 100 PS (instead of previously 90 PS), on request can also generate 86 kW / 117 PS, if it should be the direct injection - saddle with it the Japanese propere 27 horses on the top model. Savvy foxes, who drive a little anyway, get for 11.990 Euro still the 52 kW / 71 PS strong naturally aspirated engine. For the turbo intake manifold injection IG-T 100 at least 15.390 Euro are due, while the DIG-T 117 already requires at least 18.190 Euro. Once again 200 Euro will be more expensive, if the then 100 PS strong Turbo passes on its torque to a continuously variable automatic transmission. Whatever one chooses - the fuel consumption (NEDC) ranks between 4,5 and 5 liters, so the Micra election is unlikely to be decided on fuel consumption.

Also a CVT is available

If you do not want to switch manually, you're subscribed to the 100 PS version - and that's enough. With the CVT, there are now permanently programmed gear ratios, of which the machine usually does not deviate. If you press the pedal so down, the quite characteristic Sirrende three-cylinder does not remain as known from this system before the speed end, but goes down with the tours when the transmission makes a jump in the translation value.

Whether the extra charge for the 17 horses is worth more, may decide the visual or tactile taste. For example, those who want the at least 19.900 Euro expensive "N-Sport" version can not cope with the more powerful direct-injection engine, which is combined with a manual six-speed gearbox. The in this case with Alcantara related dashboard gives the city car a certain chic. A bit of carbon here, the down flat steering wheel there - along with the black headliner makes the sporty Micra an appetite. An exit with the already boldly drawn Japanese brings driving pleasure. The charged Otto tugs vigorously on the front wheels, as soon as the exhaust gas turbines have begun their work, to make the four-meter vehicle drive technology to the Vollwerter. And thanks to direct steering, the little one also appears quite active in bends.

Inside, the Nissan appears fresh

Of course you do not have to live in today's representatives of the so-called B-segment space. In front two average grown passengers do not get in each other's way, and if no two-meter giant has taken place, even longer distances in the rear are no problem.

As a small reference to the younger generation is assured that the Nissan dominated at least the essential features of a digital primary care. On the sufficiently large and neatly resolved on-board monitor, various smartphone integrations such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto plus run a slightly more expensive in-plant solution that navigates similarly well, but it does so even if the mobile phone versions quit because of the lack of service coverage.

As a final word, it should be said that the engines, which are now a little bit more snappy, naturally fulfill the currently best-possible Euro 6d-Temp exhaust standard, which is no different. All sorts of assistants including lane keeping control and automatic braking are available at 500 Euro surcharge. In this respect, you can with the Nissan Micra calms, comfortable as safe and thanks chic design (two-color finishes are possible) well dressed in the future drive.
