FORD gives a first look at the next S-MAX generation. FORD still speaks of a concept study, but the design language of the concept vehicle speaks the clear language of the current FORD design. A powerful shoulder line and a crisp edge of light below the chrome-plated window line.
FORD S-MAX Concept
A sporty van? Or a family station wagon with more space? Or is it a genre of its own? The Ford S-MAX established the ancestral line of “Sport Utility Vehicle” at Ford and wants to appeal to new groups of buyers successfully in its second generation.
The FORD developers have come up with some ideas for this. The S-Max Concept not only demonstrates the design language of the next generation, it shows with a novel ECG seat and the ability to monitor the driver's blood sugar via radio technology, where the journey in the car of the future might go. Thanks to modern FORD Sync technology, future generations of FORD automobiles may be able to monitor the health of drivers. This only covers part of the “communication” of the future - people and cars are networked as well as Car-2 car. ford relies here on a WLAN technology, with the help of which the vehicles could warn each other of dangerous situations.
Of course, the new S-MAX will also be equipped with new assistance systems. Sensors are designed to reliably warn against accidents involving pedestrians and to avoid them in an emergency.
However, spacious vehicles like the upcoming S-Max also benefit from a completely different assistant: the parking assistant. New technologies make it possible to automate vehicles with ever-faster and more helpful automatic parking. The future FORD generation will certainly benefit from these assistance systems combined in the S-Max Concept.
The drive will be, among other things, the successful Ecoboost engine family. Here FORD will present the new 1.5 liter Ecoboost engine, of course with gasoline direct injection and turbocharging.
