The lion brand has got offspring. Just in time for 84. International Motor Show in Geneva, the French present the new Peugeot 108.
In addition to the two larger brothers 208 and 308 the new 108 is the nestling of the lion family. With a total length of 3.47 meters and a width of 1.62 meters, it serves the city car market. There he should meet his most important competitor, the new one Renault Twingo.
The new city runabout appears as the Peugeot 108 sedan and as the Peugeot 108 TOP! with a fabric top (can be opened to a size of 80 x76 cm) in two body styles. The five-door Peugeot 108 sedan in Red Purple, for example, is supposed to be reminiscent of shimmering gemstones, while the three-door Peugeot 108 comes up with a two-tone body in Red Purple in the lower and gallium gray in the upper area of the body.
Peugeot has seven individual design themes ready for the new 108, that's for sure. The new 108 is said to be the city car with an extra portion of chic.
A generous trunk with 196 liters of cargo space (with tire repair kit and 180 liters with spare wheel) is hidden behind the tailgate. Thanks to the very low loading sill of 77 cm and one meter of space between the wheel arches, the new 108 should be easy to load. Thanks to the 50:50 foldable rear bench, the cargo space can be increased to up to 750 liters. The backrests are folded down using two levers that are accessible from the outside. Numerous storage spaces are available on board the Peugeot 108. A 1-liter bottle fits into the glove compartment with lid and a half-liter bottle into each of the door compartments.
The new Peugeot 108 with smartphone connection
A large 7-inch diagonal touchscreen sits enthroned in the middle of the instrument panel (in the Active equipment level as an option, as standard with Allure), creating a new interface between vehicle and driver via which the radio, on-board computer, vehicle settings and much more more can be served.
The functions of a smartphone can also be used in the vehicle in the future. The connection is either via Bluetooth® - especially for making calls and listening to music - or for apps that can be used while on the move Mirror screenwhich runs on Android, RIM and Windows mobile phones via MirrorLinkTM, on iOS devices via AppInCar.

Hill start assist is included with all engines.
In addition, all units benefit from the low weight of the Peugeot 108 (from 840 kg). The chassis is based on a McPherson front axle and an elastically deformable cross member at the rear.
It is not yet known when the new Peugeot 108 will be available from dealers and what prices will be called up for the different variants.
