GFG Style Kangaroo - The sports car for the rough

There are already some SUVs with super sporty driving characteristics on the market. But a true super sports car with SUV competence is new.

The design company GFG Style, founded by Giorgio and Fabrizio Giugiaro 2015, presents a so-called Hyper-SUV at the Geneva Motor Show (7 until 17, March) with the Kangaroo study. In essence, it is a crisp proportioned electric sports car, which thanks to all-wheel drive, even trips in rough terrain must not be afraid. The designer car should hardly have chances of mass production.

Definitely a sports car, but no SUV: the GFG Style Kangaroo

One should not be fooled by the new categorization: Apart from the slightly increased ground clearance and the generously proportioned wheel arches, the Kangaroo bears no resemblance to an SUV. Rather, it is a wedge-shaped low-rise, which looks like a mid-engined sports car. The 1,29 meter high body snuggles tightly over the 22 inch large sports wheels. Between the axles is a glass pulpit that can accommodate two passengers. A special feature are the two-part doors: While a glass part folds upwards, the lower part of the door opens to the front and the top.

The Kangaroo is only 1,29 meters flat

The interior of the kangaroo is lined with lots of red leather. Through the open-topped steering wheel, the driver looks at a medium-sized display for driving information. Above it is a narrow and very wide display that shows pictures of the virtual exterior mirrors. In addition, there is a vertically arranged giant display in the center console, which serves as a display and control element for various vehicle functions and the infotainment system.

Actually, the Kangaroo looks like a typical mid-engine sports car

The Kangaroo is powered by an electric motor duo, which together produce 360 kW / 490 PS and 680 Newtonmeter torque. The four-wheel drive allows a sprint from standstill to Tempo 100 in under four seconds, a maximum of 250 km / h are possible. An 90 kWh battery should provide more than 450 kilometers of range. The all-wheel-steered Kangaroo offers three driving modes that change the parameters for ground clearance and camber. So in off-road mode, the ground clearance increases to 26 centimeters, while in race mode it drops to 14 centimeters.
