Honda CR-V - More space and technically updated

In the US is at Hondas Series CR-V the model change shortly before. There, the Japanese have recently presented the end of 2016 launching new edition, which also allows a view of the new European variant of the SUV model.

The reissue of the CR-V seems at first sight to be quite similar to the current model, but in fact it is a profoundly renewed version. This can be seen, among other things, in the front lights, in which Honda will use full-LED technology in the future. In addition, the all-wheel drive has grown in all directions, which will have a positive effect on the space available in the interior.

This presents itself also extensively modernized. Instead of using classic analog instruments, driving-relevant information is displayed on a large TFT display. In the tidy center console is also a large touch screen for the navigation infotainment system, which features, among other things, Apple Carplay and Android Auto and a voice control.

In addition, the CR-V has been equipped with the Sensing sensor system recently introduced at Civic. The combination of radar and camera enables a range of assistance systems, such as a collision detector, which automatically brakes in an emergency. Additional safety is provided by a lane keeping machine, a blind spot warning system and a distance cruise control.

On the drive side, the US version will have, among other things, a new downsized petrol engine, which thanks to turbocharging from 1,5 liter displacement will mobilize proud 140 kW / 190 horsepower. For the German market, however, the diesel engine will be more decisive, but about which there is still no information. Honda has with the 1.6 i-DTEC currently a modern diesel in the portfolio, which will probably be used in the future CR-V in an optimized version. More information will probably not be available until next year. (Mario Hommen / SP-X)
