Innogy brings e-cars to Poland - more charging stations in Warsaw

The eastern member states of the EU also opted for e-mobility. Only a little bit. In Poland there is now car sharing with electric cars.

Innogy, an energy supplier, launches an eCarSharing project in Warsaw at the beginning of April with 500 BMW i3 At the same time, Innogy is doubling the number of charging stations on 60 in the Polish capital. Over the next two years, the company plans to set up several hundred additional public charging stations.

Poland is currently in the lead in new e-vehicles in Europe. Admittedly, registration numbers increased by 42,5 percent last year, but in absolute terms only 620 electric vehicles were registered. For comparison, in Germany it was 36.216 and the European e-mobile leader Norway 46.143. The restraint of the Poles on the subject of e-cars could also be due to the nature of power generation. Only 12 percent comes from renewable sources, more than half from coal.
