At the end of 2015, the new sports car manufacturer Jannarelly launched the Design-1, a particularly puristic mid-engineRoadster presented with a remarkable retro look. So far, only an open version has been presented, in which the occupants are largely exposed to the elements without protection. Now Jannarelly is also showing a hardtop version with a large windshield.
Like the entire vehicle, this roof construction has turned out to be somewhat idiosyncratic. The carbon hood consists of A-pillars, side windows and the roof. The part is hinged to the left and right of the windshield and can be folded forward and up as a whole. The windshield stops when it is opened, and there are also flat side doors that can be opened. Nevertheless, it looks like passengers have to make themselves a bit small when boarding and also be careful.
When closed, the double-bubble roof fits neatly into the curvaceous design of the Jannarelly roadster. The hardtop version also exudes a lot of 60s flair and also looks pretty fast. In any case, the Design-1 is fast, because its 3,5-liter V6 petrol engine with its around 300 hp enables a sprint time in just under 4 seconds and a top speed of 220 km / h. In the hardtop version, you should actually be able to use this speed.
The Design-1 is probably produced in Dubai and also available in Europe for around 77.000 euros. (Mario Hommen / SP-X)
