Jeep Grand Cherokee 2014

It made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show at the beginning of March, and now it is also coming to German Jeep dealers, the new Grand Cherokee!

Jeep Grand Cherokee - Facelift 2014

Sales of the Grand Cherokee are already going well, now a new eight-speed automatic transmission is being added for all engine variants and sales are likely to increase in just the same gear.

New design features such as bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights and new color combinations for the body and interior distinguish the various equipment versions even more from each other than before. Particularly high-quality materials such as Natura Plus leather and open-pored wood, together with the new three-spoke steering wheel, give the interior an exclusive character. The uconnect system with a 213 millimeter screen diagonal and the first driver-configurable TFT display screen in a jeep offer new infotainment content.

Two four-wheel drive systems, the Jeep Quadra-Lift air suspension and the optimized Selec-Terrain traction management ensure legendary Jeep capabilities. The 2014 model year Jeep Grand Cherokee also has the most advanced systems for active and passive safety, such as the adaptive cruise control system.

The new Grand Cherokee in the equipment versions Laredo, Limited, Overland and Summit can now be ordered from German Jeep dealers.

Product Details:

New eight-speed automatic transmission

The Chrysler Group's new eight-speed automatic transmission debuts at Jeep for all Grand Cherokee engines, from the 3.6 V6 gasoline engine to the 3.0 MultiJet II V6 turbodiesel to the V8 HEMI engines. The power transmission reduces consumption and emissions while at the same time improving performance, smoother shifting and greater shifting comfort. A further contribution to the fuel efficiency of the Jeep Grand Cherokee is the Eco mode, which optimizes the switching program - and in the case of the V8 also the cylinder deactivation - for the lowest possible consumption. As soon as a sporty driving style is desired, the driver can deactivate Eco mode at the push of a button. On models with Quadra-Lift air suspension, Eco mode also lowers the body earlier to the particularly aerodynamically favorable 'Aero Ride Height' position, which helps to further reduce fuel consumption.

Even with the new eight-speed automatic transmission, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has its familiar high towing capacity of up to 3,5 tons.

New body look

True to the distinctive and exclusive design that made the Grand Cherokee world famous, the modernizations for the 2014 model year ensure even more high quality and sportiness in the front design. On all models, the upper front grille is lower overall and the headlights are narrower. At the same time, the lower part of the front apron is pulled up a little with higher integrated and visually accentuated fog lights.

The rear is enhanced by larger lights with LED technology, a larger rear spoiler, a newly shaped tailgate and model-specific lower areas of the rear apron.

New interior

The quality atmosphere on board a Grand Cherokee is reinforced by new, high-quality materials such as Natura Plus leather and open-pored wood. At first glance, the modified center console with the new uconnect is striking® Touchscreen with a screen diagonal of 213 millimeters, as well as the new, leather-covered electronic automatic selector lever. Each Jeep Grand Cherokee model has its own style with specific materials and color worlds.

Equipment version Summit even more exclusive

At the top of the Grand Cherokee model series, the Summit version represents the highest level of quality with high-quality Natura Plus leather and a suede-like cover material for the A-pillars and the headliner. Another exclusive detail of the Summit is the high-performance surround audio system from Harman / Kardon with 825 watts of music output, 19 loudspeakers and a twelve-channel amplifier, which surrounds the passengers with a spatial sound experience in high definition quality.

New uconnect system with 213 millimeter touchscreen

For the Jeep Grand Cherokee, the new uconnect system is available for the first time with its touchscreen with a 213 millimeter screen diagonal, which displays most of the driving and comfort information. For safe operation without taking your hands off the steering wheel, audio and many other controls are also housed in the steering wheel and an innovative, voice-controlled hands-free system is available on request. Upon request, uconnect can also integrate the new navigation system with a three-dimensional representation of buildings.

New three-spoke steering wheel and instrument display

Another new detail in the Jeep Grand Cherokee is the three-spoke leather steering wheel, the upper segment of which is made of wood in the Overland and Summit models. The steering wheel carries controls for the radio, cruise control, telephone and voice commands as well as two shift paddles for manual gear changes in the eight-speed automatic transmission. The highlight behind the steering wheel is the new, 177 millimeter TFT liquid crystal screen, on which the display instruments such as speedometer, rev counter, side inclination indicator and other scales can be configured according to the driver's wishes.

New safety equipment

The 2014 model year adds additional features to the Jeep Grand Cherokee's already extensive safety equipment, such as the 'Crash Mitigation' function within the 'Forward Collision Warning' collision avoidance system. In the event of an impending collision, the system not only warns the driver visually and acoustically, but also automatically initiates braking before the driver even puts his foot on the pedal.
