Jeep Grand Cherokee - From mud to metropolis

The debuted 25 years ago Jeep Grand Cherokee. The current generation has been at the start since 2011 and will receive a facelift before the fifth will be launched in late 2018. In addition to the usual design corrections, there is now a refreshed infotainment system, modern driver assistance systems and the Trailhawk equipment line, which specializes in off-road driving. The revised models will be available from the dealer at the end of February. In conjunction with the 140 kW / 190 hp V6 entry-level diesel, the large SUV costs at least 49.900 euros. The new off-road variant is available in combination with the 3,0-liter V6 diesel in the expansion stage with 184 kW / 250 hp from 64.400 euros.

When it comes to visually refreshing, the Jeep designers use proven measures. So the front was slightly modified. The brand-typical seven cooling air vents are now slightly lower. The lower part of the front bumper was also changed. All models also come with an exhaust twin tailpipe. There are now also new alloy wheels. The top version SRT, which boasts a 344 kW / 468 hp V8 and costs at least 87.900 euros, differs from the other variants by its black, extremely low cooling air slots and the striking air inlet in the lower area of ​​the bumper. The two top levels Summit and SRT now have bi-xenon headlights with cornering light function.

In addition to the exterior, the driver assistance systems were also retrofitted. Since the revised models have now been equipped with a new, fully electric power steering, an automatic parking assistant and an active lane keeping assistant with steering intervention are now available. The reversing camera can now be activated on the touchscreen without reverse gear being engaged in order to be able to control what is happening at the rear more easily.

The Trailhawk equipment line only complements the Laredo, Limited, Overland, Summit and SRT levels. It differs from the other versions by a black anti-glare film on the bonnet, matt gray accents for roof rails, front grille, front apron and exterior mirror housing as well as the characteristic Trailhawk lettering on the rear. Standard equipment includes 18-inch tires with Kevlar-reinforced side walls, an underride guard, air suspension with five adjustment levels and up to 28 centimeters of ground clearance, as well as an uphill and downhill driving assistant. In addition to the 250 hp diesel, a 3,6 liter V6 petrol engine with 213 kW / 290 hp (from 62.400 euros) is available. Both engines are coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission with reduced terrain.
