Kias Smallest - the Picanto - comes in the summer in Germany new on the market. The exterior dimensions continue to be micro-car level, but the Koreans are getting in touch with higher classes in terms of equipment and drive. However, the starting price remains just in the four-digit range.
With 3,59 Meter, the always five-door Picanto is still short. Visually, the little Kia is self-confident and burly. This is particularly true of the new sports GT-Line, which comes along with some dynamic accents particularly striking. In the interior, the guests have more space than before, especially in the rear, the legroom has grown. The trunk with a capacity of 255 to 1.010 liters has also increased significantly.
The basic version has six airbags, on-board computer, radio, USB port and central locking on board. Optionally Kia offers higher equipment lines and additional equipment packages. Here, the small car can be upgraded with, among other things, knee airbag, automatic climate control, navigation system with 7 touch screen, front center armrest, heated leather steering wheel, heated seats, parking beeper, cruise control, anti-collision system, hands-free kit.
In the case of the engines, however, as before, simple fare is available. At least for the time being, customers have the choice between a one-liter three-cylinder with 49 kW / 67 PS or an 1,2-liter four-cylinder with 62 kW / 84 PS. Only in the autumn, a one-liter petrol engine with direct injection and turbocharging is additionally available. With the 74 kW / 100 PS and 172 Newton meter three-cylinder accelerates the Picanto in ten seconds at highway speed and reaches 180 km / h top speed.
