The Swedes continue to upgrade when it comes to super sports cars. Koenigsegg Automotive AB from Ängelholm, Sweden plans to present a new super sports car called the Koenigsegg Ragnarok at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2019.
He should be the official successor to the current top model Koenigsegg Agera RS. "Ragnarok" is the Swedish term for "fate of the gods" or "twilight of the gods" and comes from Norse mythology. The second part of the Thor film is also entitled "Ragnarok" = "Day of Decision".
Koenigsegg Ragnarok – hybrid supercar
The previously known key data of the Koenigsegg Ragnarok also seem mystical. A hybrid drive with 1.440 hp works under the even more extreme carbon fiber chassis. Christian von Koenigsegg also gave information about the engine of the Koenigsegg Ragnarok. This is supposed to be an update of the 5,0 liter high-revving V8 twin turbo Koenigsegg Agera RS and be equipped with hybrid components.
There are also first statements from the company boss about the doors and the roof. These should be in a classic manner, the roof comes in a Targa variant. After the Agera RS has already delivered a top speed of 457,33, it could be that the Ragnarok could be a few km/h faster. Christian von Koenigsegg certainly wants to present the fastest super sports car again.
Limited to 120 copies
The aerodynamics should be further optimized and deliver even more contact pressure than the predecessors. The oversized rear wing will be responsible for this. With a vehicle weight of just 1.200 kilograms, this is also a decisive factor.
If you are interested in a model of the Ragnarok, you should decide quickly. The super sports car manufacturer wants to increase the number of units in the new model to 120 copies. But we know from experience that these will be sold out within a very short time.
