With the completely newly developed Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4, Lamborghini is redefining the super sports car market: Enormous top performance and extreme driving precision with consistent carbon fiber lightweight construction, combined with unique design and sporty equipment quality. With the Lamborghini Aventador, Automobili Lamborghini SpA is taking a big step into the future. In addition, the automotive brand is adding a new automotive legend to its history.

The Lamborghini Aventador

The name of the new super sports car is also a tradition: this Lamborghini also bears the name of a bull. Of course it was again a particularly brave specimen from the world of the Spanish Corrida. Aventador was the name of a black bull that competed in the Zaragoza Arena in 1993 and was awarded the Trofeo de la Peña La Madroñera for its bravery.

[dropcap size=big]700[/dropcap]The basis of the Lamborghini Aventador is an innovative monocoque made of carbon fiber reinforced plastics that combines consistent lightweight construction with the best rigidity and safety. The new twelve-cylinder with a displacement of 6,5 liters and 515 kW / 700 hp combines high revs with tremendous pulling power. Thanks to the vehicle's low dry weight of 1.575 kilograms, the power-to-weight ratio is just 2,25 kilograms per hp. The Aventador needs just 2,9 seconds to reach 100 km/h. Its top speed is 350 km/h. Consumption and CO2 emissions have fallen by around 20 percent compared to the Murciélago. And that despite eight percent more power.

The performance of the Aventador sets new standards

For the Aventador LP 700-4, Lamborghini's research and development engineers have developed a completely new high-performance engine - an extremely powerful and high-revving, yet very compact power pack. The weight is also extremely low at 235 kilograms. 515 kW (700 hp) set new standards in the world of super sports cars. The maximum torque is 690 Newton meters at 5.500 rpm.

Such extreme power must be reliably brought to the road. The driver of the Aventador LP 700-4 feels like a pilot in the cockpit and can rely on the permanent all-wheel drive. In the drive train, an electronically controlled Haldex clutch distributes the drive torque between the front and rear. Within milliseconds, this clutch adapts the optimum power distribution to the dynamic driving situation.

The Drive Select Mode system can be used to adapt the characteristics of the vehicle (engine, transmission, differential, vehicle dynamics control, steering) to the individual wishes of the driver in three stages: road, sport and racetrack.

The built-in ISR gear guarantees the shortest switching times of just 50 milliseconds. The lightweight chassis with pushrod wheel suspension stands for absolute driving precision and extreme performance.

The suspension and damping of the Lamborghini Aventador is inspired by the Formula 1 pushrod principle. Together with the double wishbone wheel suspension made of aluminum or the carbon fiber ceramic brake system, this lightweight chassis is a further building block in the Lamborghini Aventador's technological concept.

In the hands of its pilot, the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 is a machine of the highest precision - spontaneous, direct and always reliable. The driver is supported by state-of-the-art electronic systems such as the highly sporty and step-adjustable ESP driving dynamics control. In addition to the extremely rigid carbon fiber cell, front, head/thorax or knee airbags also ensure passive safety.

For the Lamborghini Aventador, the designers at the Centro Stile Lamborghini in St. Agatha Bolognese have consistently further developed and sharpened the elegant, aggressive forms. It is a work of art of avant-garde design, a sculpture of extreme dynamics, from the low roof line and the swept front to the distinctive diffuser at the rear.

With a length of 4,78 meters, truly impressive proportions are created by the enormous width of 2,26 meters including exterior mirrors and especially by the low height of only 1.136 millimeters. The two scissor doors of the carbon fiber monocoque open upwards as on the Lamborghini Countach, the Diablo and the Murciélago.

The Aventador quotes its direct predecessor, the Murciélago, even further: When the outside temperature is high and the engine needs more cooling, additional intake ducts above the rear wheels open again electronically controlled. The transparent engine cover, which is available as an option, presents the twelve-cylinder as the heart of the Lamborghini on the Aventador like a technical work of art in a showcase.

Noble materials also in the interior of the Lamborghini Aventador

Its interior combines the fine exclusivity of fine materials and perfect workmanship in the best Italian craftsmanship. A red flap on the wide center tunnel secures the start button, which is used to start the engine. The interior is dominated by a next-generation cockpit: like in a modern aircraft, the instruments are displayed on a TFT-LCD liquid crystal flat screen. A second screen is part of the standard multimedia and navigation system of the super sports car.

Individuality is trumps, also at Lamborghini, here it is called “Ad Personam”. Numerous paint colors are available from the start of production, including three of the particularly complex matt shades. The interior can be designed in two colors "Sportivo" or "Elegante". A high-end audio system or the reversing camera are among the many technical options.

Italo fans will be particularly interested in the price of the Aventador. Because this fall, the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 will be available from dealers for 321.500 euros.
