Lamborghini Huracan Offroader – The bull for the terrain
A bull on drugs, with broad flanks, long legs and wild, that's probably the best way to describe the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato concept car. A street racing car becomes a thoroughbred off-road rally monster. Of course, this does not work with series parts from Lamborghini's high-bay warehouse. No, here the parts are custom-made for the bull using a 3D printing process.
Off-road Sterrato based on the Lamborghini Huracan EVO
The basis for the Sterrato concept vehicle is a Lamborghini Huracan EVO. A special, lightweight plastic material makes the cosmetic add-ons to a rally Lamborghini possible. With a 3D printer, the parts are then shaped and then attached to the production Huracan.
The well-known 5,2-liter V10 naturally aspirated engine with 631 hp works under the hood of the one-off. This transfers its power to the off-road terrain via the all-wheel drive. In order to be able to move the bull off-road, the body is raised by almost five centimetres. The track also widens by two centimetres. Extensions for the fenders, off-road tires and an LED light bar on the roof provide an additional off-road look.
In the interior, five-point racing belts keep the pilots in their seats. In the event of a rollover, an integrated roll cage helps protect passengers. So far everything has been thought of so that the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato can also flex its muscles off the beaten track.
Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato is coming in 2021
Anyone who knows Lamborghini and his plans for the future knows that a successor to the Huracán will only appear in 2023 or 2024. The Lamborghini Huracán STO (Super Trofeo Omologato) is scheduled to hit the market in 2020. Until a hybrid variant of the Huracán is available at dealerships by 2022, the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato could possibly appear in 2021.
Those responsible have to decide whether the plans for a series off-roader can be turned into reality. In our opinion, the target group will definitely find each other. If the series off-road bull on steroids doesn't work out, we'll buy a suitable 3D printer and screw the components to the Lamborghini body ourselves by hand.
