Last Land Rover Defender Heritage is auctioned - gravel instead of terrain

Do good and talk about it: Land Rover is auctioning a Defender and hopes for generous bidders and plenty of gravel, finally, a social project with the proceeds to be supported.

The last model for a limited edition of 500 special edition "Land Rover Defender Heritage 2016" will be released on 5. April in Hamburg for a good cause. The proceeds go to a social institution for children and youth in Mombasa, Kenya. Bidders interested must register at www.landro-formulare.de/defender-versteigerung. If you can not be there, you can take part in the auction by phone.

The auctioned off special model has some special features in the exterior design, which pay tribute to the built starting 1948 Series I. These include the paint in the classic Grasmere Green and the white roof, the grille and several "HUE 166" logos. This feature was the very first pre-series Land Rover, which was then nicknamed "Huey" received. The vehicle is powered by a 90 kW / 122 PS strong 2,2-liter diesel. As a special award, the vehicle receives a badge, which makes it as the last Defender produced for Germany of the current generation recognizable.

The Land Rover Defender was built from 1948 for almost 70 years with only a few technical changes. Production in the British Solihull was discontinued at the beginning of 2016, partly because the new EU requirements for pedestrian protection with the angular body could no longer be met. The new generation of the 2020 × 4 legend will be launched in 4. At the end of 2015, the auction of the unique “Defender“ 2.000.000 ″ for the two millionth sales anniversary of the series achieved a profit of around 550.000 euros.
