Today there are tips and tricks on how to get your car ready for the winter. There are actually only a few points that you have to consider:
01 - The right tires for winter
Those who live in the north will immediately smile, but in the south of Germany, winter tires really make sense. In winter temperatures and weather conditions, winter tires simply offer better handling and quite honestly: the tire is the only connection between (expensive) vehicle and (smooth) road surface.
Should one really save there? We do not believe! In the north, all-weather tires can be a good compromise, but you should rather not dare to go on a winter holiday. If you really want to get into the mountains in winter, then you can even put the good old snow chains in the vehicle. Pay attention to the appropriate air pressure and, above all, do not forget the spare wheel, that too should have sufficient pressure (and profile).
02 - Frost protection for the radiator and windscreen washer system
Anyone who has followed our car care tips for the fall, now also knows: Frost protection is important! Now it's really time! Check radiator antifreeze and supplement if necessary and the water from the windscreen washer system must now also be prepared for colder temperatures. Incidentally, we recommend buying large canisters and mixing them yourself, which saves plastic garbage. The windshield wipers must also be checked again and all door seals can be rubbed even once with a care pen, because cracked door seals would like to have in winter no one.
03 - Lighting and technology check
Is everything lit? Everything works? Then it's good! Be sure to check the complete lighting device again, even in the interior. Even in winter you have to wash the vehicle regularly! On the one hand because the road salt has to go down, on the other because clean vehicles are easier to recognize.
04 - The right equipment
Now it is really time to take the beach bag out of the trunk! Ice scrapers are allowed to take a seat and we also recommend a blanket.
But which ice scraper is actually suitable for whom? When it comes to ice scrapers, length matters! Yes! There is one thing in the world that really depends on size or length: ice scraper! There are small, short, wide, long ones - so there is the right one for every vehicle and that is exactly what matters, right? It must match!
