Maserati is planning a small Maserati Quattroporte with a diesel engine

Italian sports car maker Maserati is planning a smaller version of the Maserati Quattroporte for 2013, which will be powered by a V6 diesel. For the first time in the company's history, they now want to install diesel engines in their vehicles. The diesel engine will initially be used in a small Maserati model.

Maserati Maseratina arrives in 2013

According to information from autobild.de, the diesel will come onto the market in 2013 under the working title “Maseratina”. It will then have 300 hp and 700 Nm of torque. In terms of dimensions, the diesel model from Maserati is based on the BMW 5 Series and the Mercedes S-Class. In addition to the diesel, a V6 petrol engine with direct injection and twin turbo will also be available for the Italian trident.
