McLaren showrooms open in Düsseldorf and Hamburg

The German Grand Prix is taking place this weekend at the Nürburgring. McLaren uses this event to open the first McLaren showroom in Düsseldorf and Hamburg. New stores are opening just a month after opening the world's first retailer store in London. Customers in this country can now take a close look at the McLaren MP4-12C for the first time.

McLaren Showroom Dusseldorf

The specially built McLaren Düsseldorf flagship store on Willstätter Strasse in the Rhine metropolis and the McLaren branch at Hamburg Airport are the first of a total of four showrooms in Germany that will open their doors in the coming months.

Each location will have its own showroom and aftersales area.

The chassis, which adorns the flagship store in Düsseldorf, was driven by the French racing legend Alain Prost. He celebrated a total of four Grand Prix victories with this car.

Each of the 35 showrooms worldwide houses a part of the unique history of McLaren – an original racing car that has seen the checkered flag as the winner in at least one race. In Düsseldorf, for example, there is the MP4/5. With this vehicle McLaren triumphed in 1989, the first season after the abolition of the turbo engines, both in the drivers' classification and in the teams' classification.

McLaren showroom in Hamburg

In Hamburg, visitors to the showroom can look forward to the MP4/6, which brought one of the most famous racing drivers of all time, Ayrton Senna, his third and final world championship title in the 1991 season - and McLaren the fourth consecutive constructors' title.
