The Turismo RHD has been a fixture in the coach range from Mercedes-Benz, In October, the Stuttgart-based company will present the new generation of high-decker at Busworld in Kortrijk, Belgium. Daimler published a few details and a first sketch beforehand.
Although the next generation of the Turismo RHD gets a new design, the typical brand face should be preserved. As usual, the mid-range bus will be offered in a length of 12 to 14 meters. The customer can choose between four models and three length formats.
The aerodynamics have been improved and the drag coefficient reduced to 0,33, which among other things should ensure less consumption. Mercedes plans to expand the drive range. In the future there will be inline six-cylinder diesel engines with a displacement of 7,7 to 10,7 liters and a performance range from 260 kW / 354 hp to 335 kW / 456 hp.
Mercedes also promises some innovations for the interior. In addition to two selectable cockpits, the company wants to offer more options for customizing the passenger compartments. More comfortable entrances, a bright and friendly design, seating as in luxury saloons, a new WLAN router technology, LTE internet connection and a new heating and air conditioning technology should create a more pampering atmosphere.
Security is also being upgraded. An optional emergency braking system is available, which detects standing obstacles and automatically initiates braking.
