Mercedes revised London Taxi - Vito with steering rear axle

Taxis in London are usually the somewhat baroque, legendary TX models of the traditional manufacturer LTI. But now some vans meet the necessary conditions to be admitted as a taxi in the British capital. Just like that Mercedes Vito, which has been operating as a London taxi since 2008. Now the Black Cab from Stuttgart has been revised.

The new London Vito is designed for a maximum of six passengers. Disabled guests can also ride, as access is wheelchair-accessible. Open the electric sliding doors to the rear, go out on both sides treads electrically. Air conditioning and a start-stop system are standard. In addition, the taxi offers some assistance systems such as fatigue and blind spot warning or the active parking assistant.

As with the previous model, the new London Vito also meets the special turning circle requirements for taxis in the British capital. Thanks to a specially designed steerable rear axle, the turning circle is only 7,62 meters. (Mario Hommen / SP-X)
