The five-door Mini will be available from March in a particularly low-priced basic version Mini One First, which marks the entry into the three-door model. The well-known three-cylinder turbo gasoline engine (1,2 liter) makes 55 kW / 75 horsepower. The five-door small car costs 16.800 Euro, 900 Euro more than the three-door variant.
The five-door is 16 inches longer than the three-door mini and offers more space in the back seat and in the trunk. The power is transmitted via a six-speed gearbox. 5,2 liter on 100 kilometer indicates the BMW subsidiary as consumption (121 gram CO2 / km). With the new unit, seven engine variants are now available for the five-door Mini - analogous to the three-door model, four petrol and three diesel engines, between 55 kW / 75 PS and 141 kW / 192 PS.
Despite the new base model, the Mini remains one of the more expensive models in the small car market. For comparison: a 75 PS Polo is available from around EUR 13.400.
