At BMW, the CO2 reduction is based on the electrification of the model range. At the Spring Fair in Switzerland there will be new plug-in hybrid versions of 3er, X3, X5 and 7er.
With the plug-in hybrid version of the mid-size SUV X3 BMW is expanding its sub-power portfolio at the turn of the year. At the Geneva Motor Show (7 until 17 March), the Munich also present the second generation of plug-in hybrids of 3er, X5 and 7er, in addition 2er Active Tourer and 5er get a range extension.
The X3 xDrive30e is the first model of the brand, which is offered both with burners, as a plug-in hybrid and from 2020 as a pure electric version. The SUV is powered by a combination of four-cylinder gasoline engine and electric motor with 185 kW / 252 PS system performance. Temporarily, it can be increased by exploiting the maximum power of the electric motor by up to 30 kW / 41 horsepower. The purely electric range is BMW with up to 50 kilometers.
The second sub-stream generation of the 3er sedan also uses this drive. The 2019e sedan available from Juli 330 now runs up to 60 kilometers purely electric, compared to its predecessor, this is an increase of around 50 percent. The recently redesigned, now with a new muzzle and larger grille, 7er is powered by a combination of inline six-cylinder petrol engine and electric motor, which now 290 kW / 394 PS afford. The X-Range for the 745e has grown on 54 to 58 kilometers. The BMW X5 xDrive45e, which will be available from August, uses the same drive, thanks to its new technology, its high-voltage battery enables an electric range of up to 80 kilometers.
The advances in battery cell technology have also boosted the range of the 530e Sedan and 225xe Active Tourer, which will be available from July. The 5er's plug-in hybrid variant now powers up to 64 kilometers of pure electric power 2er Active Tourer up to 57 kilometers.
