N24h: Schulze Motorsport feels well prepared

175 racing cars, thousands of fans and the Nürburgring-Nordschleife, over 20 kilometers long - that 24 hour race in the Eifel is the ultimate racing challenge. The private team Schulze Motorsport from Tagewerben will face this unique task again this coming weekend (June 19-22). With the Nissan GT-R GT3, the team competes against numerous factory-supported teams. The brothers Tobias and Michael Schulze, the Japanese Kazunori Yamauchi and Jordan Tresson from France have optimally prepared for this.

Especially during the dress rehearsal, the 24-hour qualifying race at the Nürburgring in April, Schulze Motorsport shone with a strong performance. The Nissan team not only fought for a long time for the top positions, but also secured a starting place for the top 30 qualifying. In the exciting individual time trial, the front grid positions are pulled out at the weekend. “We can therefore go into the training sessions with the necessary calm and use the time to carry out the final adjustment work on our car,” explains Tobias Schulze. This also creates optimism for team boss Wolfram Schulze: “We are well prepared and are looking forward to being part of the 24-hour race again. Now it is our goal to get over the distance easily and without errors. If that succeeds, I am sure that we can follow up on our performance from the qualifying race. ”

If the starting shot for the toughest race of the year is fired on Saturday afternoon at 16 p.m., the Schulze Motorsport team could also play into the weather conditions. Although the Eifel is actually known for its changeable weather, it should stay dry on weekends. “We get along very well with the Nissan on dry roads. And of course that would also be desirable for the fans who pitch their tents around the track, ”says Tobias Schulze.

While the spectators have already moved into the first campsites around the Nürburgring, on Thursday afternoon Schulze Motorsport is finally getting serious about free practice. Those who cannot follow the race weekend on site can look forward to extensive TV coverage. Sport1 is broadcast live on the Eifel for more than 15 hours. On www.24h-rennen.de there is also a live stream and all the important information about the long-distance classic at the Nürburgring.
