The new generation of the off-road vehicle Land Rover Discovery premieres at the Paris Salon (October 1-16). Even in the fifth edition, the large all-wheel-drive vehicle retains its typical design features: it continues to carry the eye-catching step on the roof at the level of the rear bench seat, and the predecessor is also familiar with the diagonally forward-facing C-pillar. In terms of front design, however, the Discovery with its narrow headlights is now more closely oriented to the Evoque lifestyle SUV.
Land Rover has not yet commented on the technical details of the Mercedes GLE competitor. It is known that the robust off-roader shares the light aluminum platform with the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport, and he should also come up with new technical highlights such as laser light or the "transparent bonnet"; the camera-based system is intended to show the driver the terrain in front of the vehicle during off-road sections. The four-cylinder diesel engines from the brand, which are already used in the smaller Discovery Sport, are suitable for the drive. There will probably continue to be a V6 diesel. The manufacturer only announced prices shortly before the market launch in the course of 2017; the current model costs from 47.300 euros.
