Glazing, which even explosive charges don't mind, has also been further developed. So far, the special protection vehicle reached resistance class VR 7, now the strictest requirements of resistance class VR 9 are met. Standard equipment on board the limousine is an armored communication box in the luggage compartment, an intercom for communication with the outside world and selective door unlocking. An emergency exit system, a fire extinguishing system and an emergency fresh air system are also optionally available.

Two petrol engines are available to drive the all-wheel drive sedan. A 4,0 liter eight cylinder with 320 kW / 435 hp and a twelve cylinder with 368 kW / 500 hp. The top speed is limited to 210 km / h due to the run flat capabilities of the tires. The revised Audi A8 L Security can now be ordered. The vehicles will be delivered from April. The manufacturer does not comment on the prices. The long version of the Audi A8 with the 500-hp twelve-cylinder is currently priced at 143.800 euros.
