Everything new at Citroen DS 4: The compact crossover model now comes under its own brand, receives a new front and a stylish trim option off-road look. There are new engines and more customization options in the design. The lifted five-door car celebrates its premiere at the IAA in Frankfurt and will probably be rolling out to dealers at the end of the year. Prices should continue to start at around 22.000 Euro.
Most important innovation is the renouncement of the double angle logo. Instead of Citroen, the DS 4 now appears as a DS - just as the larger DS 5 has recently demonstrated. The PSA Group wants to build DS as its own premium brand, and thus attract mainly customers in China.
So far, DS was a sub-brand; When 2011 launched the DS 4 as the second DS model, it confidently carried the well-known Citroen logo. Now he receives the narrow, elegant grille with integrated DS trademark. There are also new headlamps with LED technology. New in the program is the special variant DS 4 Crossback with even higher suspension, wheel arch extensions, roof rails and panoramic windscreen. It also closes the gap in the compact SUV range at Citroen / DS, which is only moderately occupied by the Mitsubishi ASX offshoot C4 Aircross. Both versions should also be available with an even wider range of customizations. Among other things, there are new two-color finishes and numerous decors for the exterior mirrors.
Four-wheel drive but there is not even after the lifting. For this the engine program was revised. The new entry-level engine is a 96 kW / 130 PS3 1,2 horsepower, three-cylinder turbo gasoline engine that replaces the 1,6-liter vacuum cleaner with 88 kW / 120 PS. The rest of the range is overworked, stronger and more economical. The power range extends from 88 kW / 120 PS to 155 kW / 210 PS.
A price for the higher-laid compact with the coupe-like silhouette Citroen does not yet. Lastly, for the version with the entry-level gasoline 21.590 Euro due. The lifted model is likely to be more expensive than cheaper.
