The third generation wants space, more comfort and lots of assistants Ford Galaxy score. It can already be ordered and will be launched in September. With an entry-level price of 32.810 euros for the new 1,5-liter turbo gasoline engine with 118 kW / 160 hp, the family van is around 2.800 euros above the previous model. There are now always seven seats on board as well as a CD audio system with USB connection and steering wheel control, two-zone automatic climate control, fog lights and leather steering wheel.
Visually, the Galaxy remains true to its style even after switching to the Mondeo platform. The classic van design has been modernized, the most striking difference: the new grille.
Various comfort features should make traveling in the Galaxy particularly comfortable, for example the newly developed integral handlebar rear axle, which ironed out uneven roads. The new, particularly slim seats should be more comfortable and at the same time save space. In the front seats you can book a massage and air conditioning function. The two rows of rear seats can be folded up and down electrically at the push of a button - there is no tedious balancing out of the trunk floor. An electric tailgate that is activated by foot movement is now also available.
The assistance systems on the Galaxy include an emergency braking system with pedestrian detection, adaptive LED headlights with continuous high beam and an intelligent cruise control. This recognizes the current speed limit based on the front camera and navigation data and brakes automatically in the event of an overshoot. There are also parking assistants, cross-traffic detection when reversing and a 180-degree camera in the radiator grille, which transmits the image to the interior and is intended to allow a view around the corner at confusing intersections.
The drive program initially consists of six motors. Entry-level diesel is an 88 kW / 120 PS strong 2,0 liter diesel that is also available with 110 kW / 150 PS and 132 kW / 180 PS. A biturbo variant with 154 kW / 210 hp is also available. For petrol engines, the offer starts with the new 118 kW / 160 hp 1,5 liter turbo, the top engine is a 2,0 liter turbo with 176 kW / 240 hp.
