News: Land Rover Discovery Sport - Two new diesels after three months

A new generation of diesel engines will be moving into the Land Rover Discovery Sport from May. The two-liter four-cylinder engine from the so-called Ingenium family replaces the long-established 2,2-liter diesel that was developed by Ford. The Euro 6 engine is available in two power levels, 110 kW / 150 PS and 132 kW / 180 PS, each in conjunction with all-wheel drive. The transmission has a choice between a six-speed manual transmission and a nine-speed automatic.

Both performance levels of the new diesel should be satisfied with 5,3 liters of fuel, a special fuel-saving version with low-friction tires and an extended manual transmission manages with 4,9 liters. The price for the all-wheel drive diesel variants of the mid-range SUV increases slightly. The weaker version costs from 35.350 euros (previously: 34.400 euros), the stronger 41.950 euros (previously: 41.000 euros).

At the end of the year, the Ingenium diesel will also be used in the only front-wheel drive version of the Discovery Sport, which was only launched in February 2015. There it replaces the 2,0 liter engine that has been on the market since it was launched. In the future, the diesel engines will also be available in other series of the brand and in the models of the Jaguar sister company.
