The new generation of Mitsubishi L200 is bigger, more economical and also wants to lure with a good price-performance ratio. From 26.290 Euro the prices for the 113 kW / 154 PS start strong basic version of the pickup.
If you prefer the 133 kW / 181 PS version you have to spend 6.600 Euro more, which means 32.890 Euro, which is related to the improved features. On the other hand, basic customers do not suffer - for example, air conditioning is always on board. Likewise, by the way, the all-wheel drive, so this is finally part of a working device such as the L200. And so the pickup comes with a rustic feel, which the aerodynamically optimized front can not hide.
The simple, but solidly crafted architecture suits such a character, whose job is clearly to do strenuous work. So labored many of the delivered specimens, for example, in forestry or gardening and landscaping. Interestingly, the L200 can also be for people with a lot of transport needs, because all versions consistently pull over three tons.
In the interior, those responsible have increased the space available. Dresser chairs promise a comfortable stay even on longer trips - the L200 is indeed an all-purpose weapon with a certain ability to travel. With the double cabin, there is even room in the second row - then five people fit into the Allrounder. The basic version "Club Cab" offers at least room for two more passengers.
You can also enjoy the L200 luxuriously. In the top version (from 38.490 Euro), the Mitsubishi rolls with digital radio, on-screen sat nav, heated and electrically adjustable leather seats, keyless locking system and xenon light. With the assistants, the mobile workhorse is also quite well prepared: Depending on the equipment, rear view camera and lane keeping warning system are included.
The fact that the Japanese is a real workhorse in the heart of his heart, is also clear on the chassis. So he keeps his leaf-sprung rigid axle in the back and scratches stoically on stick and stone, if it has to be. All variants are equipped with a gear reduction. The more powerful models have permanent four-wheel drive with center differential with planetary gear set and viscous control.
Of course you will not find the pickup in this country of course, but Mitsubishi is confident that this year will bring one thousand copies on the road. Since the market launch in Germany in 1993, 60.000 customers have opted for the rustic Kraxler.
