Kia presents the compact SUV Sportage at the International Motor Show IAA (17. to 27. September). While the Hyundai Tucson is already on the market at the start of the fair, its sister model shows its face for the first time in Frankfurt.
In the fourth generation of the Sportage, created in the brand's European design studio, the headlights are higher. The brand logo is now emblazoned separately on the bonnet and no longer in the grille. The proportions of the roof and window line are based on the predecessor. Even the rear is only slightly modified. Technically, the Kia Sportage is identical to the Hyundai Tucson. The innovations include a dual-clutch transmission and a new turbo gasoline engine. Four-wheel drive is available at an additional cost.
Inside, the Sportage is based on the larger Sorento, which debuted last year. The center console with the large multimedia system is new, as is the three-spoke steering wheel.
