News: Toyota Setsuna concept vehicle - Japanese wood path

A concept vehicle made almost entirely of wood shows Toyota at the Design Week in Milan (from April 12th). The open two-seater bears the name Setsuna, which is derived from the Japanese word "moment". The study aims to shed light on the changing relationship between people and automobiles.

The 3,03 meter long concept vehicle consists of different types of wood. Cedar was used for the outer cladding, while the frame is made of birch. The Setsuna was assembled by a traditional Japanese joinery, which uses neither nails nor screws. The study is visually reminiscent of a boat. An electric motor, not described in more detail, provides the drive.
