Nissan Juke-R: Birthday gift of superlatives

The Nissan Juke is celebrating a birthday and why shouldn't you give yourself a gift? Said and done. Nissan presented the at the Goodwood Festival of Speed Nissan Juke-R 2.0. The PS-loaded birthday present is packed in a striking design and, in addition to the fusion of compact crossover and super sports car, of course guarantees a lot of performance and driving pleasure.

A powerful six-cylinder makes powerful steam under the bonnet of the N and shoots brute 3,8 HP (600 kW) from all tubes from a displacement of 441 liters. Certain adjustments are of course necessary for the whole increase in performance. For example, the air intakes in the redesigned front bumper are now twice as large as on the first Juke-R to allow the engine to be adequately cooled.

A large carbon rear diffuser and a rear roof spoiler that is visually based on the resistant material and reinforced by specially designed exhaust shafts give it an even sportier character. The super athlete in crossover format also remembers his roots and not everything was pimped up. The new headlights with xenon light and LED daytime running lights as well as the modified V grille are still those of the series Juke.

Only today can you admire the concept car at the Nissan booth at the Goodwood Festival. Jann Mardenborough, winner of the 2011 Nissan GT Academy and participant in this year's 24-hour race Le Mans, started the legendary mountain race on all three days and showed what the Nissan Juke-R 2.0 can do on the track.

“The Juke-R has become the ultimate crossover super sports car. An upgrade with more power and a more appealing design was only logical after the introduction of the latest Juke version last year. The Juke-R 2.0 is a crossover in the truest sense of the word, it combines the best of Nissan: the innovation of the crossover family and the power of the GT-R supercar, ”explains Gareth Dunsmore, General Manager Marketing Communications at Nissan Europe.
