Eco concepts in Geneva - new ways

What does the mobility of the future look like? The auto industry is busy looking for answers to this question, some of which can be seen at the Geneva Motor Show.

You do not need a glass ball to predict that traffic in the megacities of this world will collapse sooner rather than later - unless new mobility solutions come to the streets soon. The idea is simple: Either one occupies the equipped with four, five or more seats mobile, most of which are currently traveling with only one passenger, with other passengers. Or you can change to small, handy means of transport, which are equipped with no more space than absolutely necessary.

A mover in mini-format Citroën shows: Ami One Concept called the only 2,50 meter long box, which offers space for two

One who wants to go both ways is Günter Schuh. The Professor of Production Systematics is launching Life on the market with his young e-car company e.Go these days. In the four-seater have on 3,35 meters at least four people. To make sure that the fun of the new mobility is not neglected, Schuh in Geneva now shows the sports study Life CS, which is more aggressive and more motorized. Also at the e.Go Lux, the electrical forge, which is based in Aachen, relies on more enjoyment - at risk. The almost five-meter-long box is based on the movers, who will drive from 2020 to 15 people autonomously through the city. In the luxury equipment, the large-capacity transporter becomes a feel-good bus with a living room ambience; also an office version for working while driving is conceivable.

Uncertain is the future of the Fiat Centoventi: The small electric car is not particularly spectacular in itself, but the battery concept

A movers in mini-format shows Citroën: Ami One Concept called the only 2,50 meter long box, which offers space for two and at least in some countries may be driven without a license; In Germany, a moped license would be needed for the cube on wheels. According to your own needs, you can rent the Ami One in a car-sharing manner for between five minutes and several days via a smartphone app, but leasing models with a five-month or five-year term are also conceivable. A purchase option does not exclude Citroën also. When the Ami One comes, is still in the stars. However, unlike numerous comparable Rinspeed studies that open year after year in Geneva, it is quite likely that it will go into production.

VW wants to address above all craftsmen with the Cargo e-Bike: The tricycle looks like the popular in Holland Holland Bakfiets and has between his two front wheels space for a small trunk

Uncertain is the future of the Fiat Centoventi: The small electric car is not particularly spectacular in itself, but the battery concept: factory installed a power storage for 100 kilometers range, three more of these batteries can be purchased or rented at the dealer if necessary , In addition, an additional 100 km power storage can be mounted by the driver himself under the driver's seat. If this concept can be realized, other manufacturers should not be amazed.

For the H2 bike, Linde replaces the battery with a mini-fuel cell, which draws its hydrogen supply for around 100 kilometers from a small cartridge

The Renault executives should have been astonished this year, when they passed the Seat booth during their tour of the fair. There was a pretty faithful copy of their 2011 presented Renault Twizy - the Seat Minimo. Four flared wheels, two seats arranged one behind the other and all this over two and a half meters in length and just over 1,20 meters wide. Unlike Renault, however, the Spaniards rely on closed doors and an exchange battery, which can be changed in a few minutes. Seat does not give more details, that the Minimo is coming, but is quite likely.

Similar, but a lot more bizarre, are the two concepts from Sbarro. The "Atelier d'Etude de constructions automobiles", as the Swiss company is officially called, shows a 1 + 3-seater electric speedster with a long snout and a rickshaw-like structure under the name El-Richo. On the other hand, the three-seater drives purely electrically, in which the passengers sit one behind the other like a tridem and are shielded by a glass dome. It is likely that such vehicles can be turned into reality, but whether you want to be seen with them on the road is another matter.

The e.Go Life comes on the market these days, in Geneva, the company shows the sports study Life CS, which is more aggressive drawn and more motorized

Then maybe you'd rather switch to a bike? With the Klement, Skoda shows what the e-bike of the future could look like. Two lithium-ion batteries provide a range of up to 62 kilometers, instead of classic pedals there are footrests; if you lean your foot forward, the 4 kW motor on the rear wheel provides propulsion - and makes the approximately 25 kilogram Klement up to 45 km / h fast. The bike is operated via smartphone app, a holder on the center bar is provided. Linde has a similar vision, but the gas experts are replacing the battery on their H2 bike with a mini fuel cell that draws its hydrogen supply from a small cartridge for a range of around 100 kilometers. Assuming a petrol station, it should be filled in a few minutes. While the two bikes are only suitable for transporting people, VW primarily wants to appeal to craftsmen with the Cargo e-bike: the tricycle looks like the bakfiets popular in Holland and has space for a small trunk between its two front wheels. After the electric packhorse has made its second appearance in Geneva, a production version will soon follow.

For the first time in over 100 years of company history, the motorcycle Dino Harley-Davidson sends an electric bike into the race

That is also the case with the LiveWire decided: For the first time in over one hundred years of company history, the motorcycle Dino Harley-Davidson sends an electric bike into the race. It should make more than a hundred kilometers, after which the Harley has to be plugged in for a good three and a half hours. Above all, the sound is exciting: The famous for deep-roaring two-cylinder moped Bauer promises: "The loudest you hear is her heart racing." Only remains to be seen if the hearts of the motorcycle disciples for the e-bike higher beat.
