Opel Insignia - from thick ship to flagship

Opel reissues its flagship Insignia. And makes the mid-range model even bigger and more noble. The coupé-cut sedan and the spaciously cut station wagon are already available for orders from 25.490 Euro, will be delivered in summer.

Both sedan (4,91 meter) as well as on station wagon (4,99 meter) have grown again compared to the already stately predecessors. Because the wheelbase has also increased, there is now much more room for the occupants than last time. The station wagon has also greatly increased the luggage space volume and now holds up to 1.640 liters. Thanks to the new dimensions, both body versions are more stocky and more present than before. Sharper cut character lines emphasize the streamlined appearance.

In the cockpit, the new Insignia generation presents itself tidily. Striking is the strong horizontal emphasis of the dashboard. In the middle is the frameless touchscreen of the infotainment system. Chrome trim, piano lacquer surfaces and fine leather also provide a noble flair. On a new technology, the Insignia offers, inter alia, a distance cruise control with collision avoidance, a head-up display, an active lane keeping assistant with countersteering function, a before cross-traffic warning backward parking aid and LED matrix light.

Base engine is a new 1,5-liter turbo gasoline engine, which is available with either 104 kW / 140 PS or 122 kW / 165 PS. Preliminary top version is an 2,0-liter turbo gasoline engine with 191 kW / 260 PS in conjunction with eight-speed automatic and four-wheel drive. The diesel engines have an 1,6-liter unit in the power levels 81 kW / 110 PS and 100 kW / 136 PS. In addition, a two-liter diesel with 125 KW / 170 PS orderable.
