The 911 built according to the ACO "LM" GTE regulations marks the end of the racing car for customers, which is based on the 3 type 997 GT911 RS road sports car. The new 3 GT460 RSR is powered by a six-cylinder boxer engine with a displacement of four liters. Due to an air flow limiter specified by the regulations, it delivers 338 hp (310 KW) and drives the XNUMX millimeter wide rear wheels.

The diameter of the front wheels has increased by 30 millimeters to 680 millimeters. The sequential Porsche six-speed gearbox is operated via shift paddles on the steering wheel.

The front and rear panels are adapted to the flared front and rear wheel arches, as are the sill covers and the wheel arch panels. The aerodynamic concept is supplemented by new intake air routing. Openings in the rear side panels, as known from the turbo variants of the Porsche 911, replace the air scoop on the engine cover, which is largely identical to that of the 911 GT2 RS road sports car.

The new customer racing car will be used at the FIA ​​World Endurance Championship, among other events. But also in the Le Mans Series, at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the GT Open races.

The new Porsche 911 GT3 Porsche wants to deliver RSR sports cars for customers from January 2012 to customer teams all over the world. The sales price is 498.000 euros plus the applicable VAT.
