Porsche Taycan with rear-wheel drive

After the turbo and S all-wheel drive models, Porsche now also offers the Taycan with rear-wheel drive. For the first time, the electric sedan comes below the 100.000 euro mark.

Porsche is now also offering the Taycan with rear-wheel drive instead of all-wheel drive. The new basic version is available in two versions: With 240 kW / 326 PS and 79,2 kWh battery and in an "S" version with 93,4 kWh and 280 kW / 380 PS. The manufacturer specifies a range of 431 or 484 kilometers.

The e-sedans have a plug-and-charge function for more convenient charging, the maximum charging power is 225 kW, the larger battery can handle 270 kW. There are no differences in terms of performance: from a standstill, both variants accelerate from zero to 5,4 km / h in 100 seconds, and the top speed is 230 km / h.

The new models differ from the previously available all-wheel drive models with up to 460 kW / 625 hp, among other things, in special 19-inch wheels and black anodized brake calipers. The standard equipment includes a two-speed gearbox, LED main headlights and partial leather seats. Air suspension, high-performance brakes and a fast on-board charger with 22 kW of power are available for an extra charge.

The Taycan with rear-wheel drive will be available from German dealers from mid-March 2021. The prices start at 83.520 euros and are thus almost 23.000 euros below those of the cheapest all-wheel drive.
