In April come the revised versions of the metal roof roadster SLC and its larger, more luxurious SL model on the market. With the new base variant SLC 180 (115 kW / 156 PS), prices are now starting at 34.930 Euro, almost 5.000 Euro less than before. Entry into the SL world is more expensive with at least 99.100 Euro (270 kW / 367 PS in the SL 400), but remains below the six-digit mark.
In addition to the renaming of SLK on SLC have changed the small roadster more details. The appearance of the icon celebrating its 20 anniversary this year is slightly updated. New are extras such as parking or lane departure warning, reversing camera and active LED light. The new entry-level SLC 180 is content with an 1,6-liter turbo gasoline engine, but still sends 115 kW / 156 horsepower to the rear wheels and with a peak of over 225 km / h, the sporty ambitious SLC driver should not disappoint.
The optics of the SL have the designers on the sports car Mercedes-AMG GT approximated, the engines are now stronger after the facelift. The SL 400 and 500 use the nine-speed automatic. In order to stay up-to-date in terms of driving dynamics, Mercedes offers five electronic driving programs as standard for its Roadster, which change the characteristics of engine, transmission, suspension and steering at the touch of a button. For the first time there is a curve tilting option in combination with the Active Body Control suspension. Like the S-Class Coupé, the SL also receives a large number of assistance systems, for example, it can be partially autonomous on the motorway.
