Three videos - three times as good 😉
Together with my colleagues Jan and Jens I shot a report for AUTOHUB. The leading role is played by the technology group ZF from Friedrichshafen. Jan for ausfahrt.tv, Jens for voice-over-cars and I for our YouTube channel: AUTOHUB! The result is an entertaining three-part series that deals with both the past and the present and future of ZF.
“Vision Zero” means: Zero accidents, zero emissions. Achieving these ambitious goals requires intelligently networked, automated systems.
Acceptance for electromobility can be created in many ways. That's why ZF is supplementing its long-standing core competence in electric machines with new product ideas and collaborations. Together with partners, ZF developed the “Car eWallet”, which is based on blockchain technology: With it, vehicles automatically pay for electricity at the charging station, parking fees or a toll. Another example of a new business model: Apps and algorithms can further increase road safety - especially for weaker road users such as pedestrians or cyclists. The intelligent algorithm “X2Safe” warns its user of an impending collision with another road user. The concept of the Intelligent Rolling Chassis (IRC), a ready-to-drive platform for purely electrically powered city vehicles, is aimed at all players in the mobility market. The completely flat floor between the front and rear axle allows almost any bodywork and new interior concepts. The Intelligent Rolling Chassis is suitable as a basis for compact cars, sedans, fun convertibles, delivery vans and even autonomous delivery containers. The intelligently networked mechatronic systems from ZF are included. The “Dashboard” app from Openmatics is interesting for car sharing service providers, taxi companies and car rental companies. With this application you can control your fleet economically. ZF founded Openmatics in 2011 as the first manufacturer-independent telematics platform. Today the system plays an important role in many of the group's future ideas - for cars, trucks and industrial applications.
Solutions from ZF for more safety on the road
Since the acquisition of TRW Automotive in the year 2015, the ZF Group has the most comprehensive portfolio active and passive security technologies in the supply industry. Constant innovation helps prevent accidents and protect vehicle occupants and other road users.
ZF has a specific knowledge that allows intelligent security systems to be developed. After all, smarter cars are safer cars too. With sophisticated electronics architectures and innovative algorithms, the Group can offer its customers integrated solutions that are much more than just the sum of their parts.
